Doflamingo is an incredibly arrogant, prideful, and a carefree person. He seems to have a penchant for dramatic phrasing, as well as a habit of exaggerated posing when giving declarations. He fears few people, as he openly taunts Fleet Admiral Sengoku, sits on the table during the Shichibukai meetings and shows only gleeful interest at the thought of warring with Whitebeard.

He does, however, dislike it when people take rumors and speak them as facts, and does not cave into such prejudice from such false rumors, as seen when he grew irritated when Giolla stated the incorrect belief that Amber Lead Syndrome was contagious.

He also has a habit of sitting in strange positions, like on the back of chairs, on tables, [16] on barrels, [15] and even on a pile of bodies in the middle of a war zone [17] and on top of a wall.

Prior to the timeskip, Doflamingo has a complete and utter lack of fear and doubt, going as far as to rob the World Nobles of their tributes, so he could blackmail the government. Only on rare occasions does he let go of his trademark smile, such as frowning in annoyance at being summoned to Mary Geoisesurprised when Laffitte arrived unannounced and unnoticed until he made his presence known, [16] and when Little Oars Jr.

However, these moments were short-lived, as Doflamingo would usually just grin again. The only genuine fear he showed then was reliving his childhood memories, which includes being attacked by a mob at age 8 because of their hatred for the Celestial Dragons.

Doflamingo learned pain and hunger for the first time in his life and such events have left him suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder even up to age 25, causing him to have nightmares of the torture and waking up in fear and drenched in sweat.

To cope with it, he drank copious amounts of alcohol. Two years after the Battle of Marinefordhe would continue to maintain his confident smile while everything was under control. However, when Law defeated Vergo and threatened the SAD supply, and even mocked him for his lack of fear and doubt as signs of overconfidence, Doflamingo finally expressed true anger and worry.

Doflamingo also showed signs of fear of someone's ability when Admiral Fujitora brought down a meteorite during the three way confrontation between the admiral, Law, and him.

Upon finally losing control over Dressrosa, Doflamingo succumbed to fear, despair, and fury. While discussing with Law about how his father abandoned the status of the Celestial Dragons and how he was setback from acquiring eternal life, Doflamingo became more and more frustrated as he relived the past.

Doflamingo seems to live by a "might is right" philosophy, believing that the strong are the ones who make the rules and will be the only ones capable of living in the "New Age". Due to his belief in this "New Age", Doflamingo seems to lose interest in other things easily, as seen with his leadership of the Bellamy Pirates [15] and the ownership of the Human Auctioning House.

Doflamingo likes to toy around with his opponents and victims in a sadistic and cruel way, as seen when he gleefully forced two Marines to try to kill each other, [16] and forcing Bellamy and Sarquiss to fight each other and suffer injuries before dealing the final blow, all the while laughing at their pain. During the battle of Marineford, all of Doflamingo's confrontations had been for the sake of personal amusement, hinting at a sadistic side, such as when he is seen laughing joyfully after severing Oars Jr.

Doflamingo also possesses an extremely bloodthirsty mentality as he brutally punished a gladiator for not shedding any blood for the spectators of his Colosseum fights and casually licked some of the blood from his gladiator victim off his own face.

Kny oneshots

He also believes in the existence of an inherent cruelty in all human beings regardless of personality that is brought by the excitement of seeing blood and death. Doflamingo also has this habit of licking his lips at the action of causing bloodshed or an upcoming chaotic event, the latter which he was eager once Whitebeard started his rampage at Marineford and the former when he shot Law at the Colosseum. Doflamingo has proven himself to be an underhanded businessman, as he has no intention of parting with certain goods despite placing them up for sell or prize, such as the Mera Mera no Mi and Goru Goru no Miand would be furious should these goods fall into outside hands.

Doflamingo has immense pride in his flag, and he will let people sail under it, but has great expectations for them and will not hesitate to dispose of them should they fail him, viewing their lack of strength as tarnishing to his name. He does not have much respect for people he considers weak, and desires to only associate himself with the strong, being quick to cast aside the weak. Though he could not care less for weaker people, he does seem to have some interest in improving them if possible, as he will point out their flaws and occasionally give them second chances to please him.

Despite his apathy for the weak, he often seems to make alliances with promising rookies. He adopted Trafalgar Law, Buffalo, and Baby 5 into his crew and apparently did it very early on their journeys, and treated Law and Baby 5 as though they were his younger siblings; [43] It is extremely difficult to join his crew, as most people, especially children, were chased off.

However, he does have an extremely strong sense of loyalty, duty, camaraderie and compassion to the subordinates who had been with him for a long time, as he expressed remorse when he had to discard Monet and Vergo[45] felt disappointment when Law betrayed him, [24] and went out of his way to destroy eight towns simply to protect Baby 5 from her personality flaws.

Despite his loyalty, compassion, duty, camaraderie and devotion to his crew, he can still be annoyed by their antics; such as Trebol being too close while chatting with him, as evidenced by his irritated frown.

Though his care for his new family seems genuine, he will not hesitate in sacrificing any of them when he sees it necessary, as he intended to force Rosinante to sacrifice his life to perform the Perennial Youth Operation for Doflamingo's immortality, a plan that he switched to Law when realizing that Law ate the Ope Ope no Mi intending to "educate" the boy into seeing the importance to die for him. Law speculates that Doflamingo's care for his crew is really nothing but an act whenever it's convenient for him.The One Piece manga and anime series features an extensive cast of characters created by Eiichiro Oda.

Oda had created Helmeppo before he created Captain Morgan, Helmeppo's father. He created several versions of Morgan before settling on the final design.

After an editor told him that Morgan, in Oda's words, "looked lame", he changed the design to its final style. The crew's number increases throughout the series, as Luffy recruits new members. Once Usopp joins the Straw Hat Pirates, they gain their own ship, the Going Merrywhich is later destroyed and replaced by a larger and more powerful vessel, the Thousand Sunny created by their shipwright Franky.

Two years later, the Straw Hats gain a new fleet, called the Straw Hat Grand Fleet, consisting of 5, pirates from seven different crews; Luffy objects to the idea of being a fleet commander, and organizes his new army in a way that they may act independently, but when one crew is in trouble, the others must do what they can to help them. At age seven, he admires and tries to join the pirates of the "Red Haired" Shanks.

His reckless efforts ultimately lead him into grave peril causing Shanks to lose an arm while rescuing him. After this, Luffy gives up on joining Shanks, resolving instead to start a crew of his own and become King of the Pirates.

In the manga, he has orange-tinted glasses, while in the anime pre-timeskip he has purple-tinted ones.

He is also seen often, if not always, smiling. Two years after the war, Doflamingo's outfit is somewhat less elaborate, wearing a plain, open shirt that has small, dark Jolly Rogers as cufflinks, a different belt, and pink striped pants. However, he still wears his trademark sunglasses which have changed from purple to red lenses and dress shoes.

Post-timeskip, he drapes his feathered coat on his shoulders instead of leaving his arms in the sleeves, similar to many high ranking Marines and pirates alike. He also now wears a golden hoop earring on each ear. Even as a child, Doflamingo spent most of the time wearing sunglasses, though he had not yet acquired his trademark ones.

Before leaving Mary GeoiseDoflamingo wore the typical garb of the Celestial Dragons, and his hair fashioned the same style. After the family left Mary Geoise, his hair was changed to a simply neat and tidy in a bowl cut and his wardrobe consisted of simple fine clothes: a low-neck button up shirt with black striped and a frilled cravat. At age 10, after gaining loyalty from his four closest childhood friends, he changed out of his tattered noble clothes for a more simple, yet cleaner, black shirt and white shorts.

He eventually took on the appearance of a mob boss, wearing a black coat like a cloak over a pale lavender shirt with an unbuttoned collar, bole-colored shorts. Donquixote Doflamingo is a major antagonist in the anime and manga series, One Piece. He serves as the main antagonist of the Dressrosa Saga. Formerly the most influential underworld broker, Doflamingo's defeat and capture sent shockwaves throughout the New World, enraging his affiliates, including one of the Four Emperors, Kaido.

He is the arch-nemesis of Trafalgar D. Water Law. He is currently locked up at Impel Down Level 6. After his defeat and crimes, both of his titles as king of Dressrosa and as one of the seven warlords were stripped and he and most of his crew members were transported to Impel Down.

He is a major antagonist in the Jaya Arc, a supporting antagonist in the Sabaody Arc, a major antagonist in the Marineford Arc, the overarching antagonist of the Punk Hazard Arc, and the main antagonist of the Dressrosa Arc. In the original Japanese version, he was voiced by Hideyuki Tanakawith Tomoe Hanba providing the voice of young Doflamingo.

In the English dubbed version, he is voiced by Robert McCollum. In most of his appearances, Doflamingo is shown to be carefree and laid-back. Unlike most members of the seven warlords, he is initially shown to not take anything too seriously and is shown to be excited by most things around him. Doflamingo is also shown in many of his appearances to always smile or to grin. In many cases, laugh and smile in situations where the level of danger is high such as Whitebeard leveling Marineford with his devil fruit ability.

He also can have a glamorous and extravagant personality, demonstrated by how he moves when he is orating or by how he sometimes walks like a flamingo. Underneath how eccentric he can be, Doflamingo is extremely violent and bloodthirsty.

As a child, Doflamingo was once a Celestial Dragon where he enjoyed abusing people around him and making them his slaves. Having lost his privileges as a Celestial Dragon, Doflamingo held an intense hatred for his father, Donquixote Homing, for sacrificing all the advantages of being a Celestial Dragon to live in the world with other people and for all the pain and suffering he had to go through.

Doflamingo harbors rage against the Celestial Dragons for not accepting him back to Mariejois and vowed to get vengeance on them by destroying everything they hold close to them. Because of his violent nature and attitude, Doflamingo feels no empathy for anyone he has victimized or the lives he has destroyed and always justifies it with him being better than people in general.

Initially, Doflamingo respects his crew and at times can be lenient to them. Because of his crew's loyalty to him, Doflamingo in many cases shows a level of care for his crew. He was angry at one of his minions for laughing at Pica 's voice stating that he does not tolerate anyone who disrespects his crew. Despite his care, in the beginning, Doflamingo was willing to kill his own crew alongside everyone on Dressrosa and find another crew which hints that he only tolerated his crew for how resourceful they were to him and was willing to kill them when they were no longer useful to him.

Doflamingo believes that strong individuals have power and might. He also believes that the weak have no room in the future of pirates. He looks down on those who are weak and is shown to manipulate them for his amusement and for his advantage.

With his belief, Doflamingo sees the future and believes that only the strong will be able to thrive. At the same time, because of his beliefs and ideology in strong people having domination, Doflamingo does not mind ruining the lives of those who are weaker than him and manipulating him.We can see that he has some ability to control others without physically touching them or using any visible aid.

The most prominent theory amongst fans is also, to us here at onepiecemysteries, the theory that is supported the most by the source text. We affectionately refer to this theory as The String Theory. Such an act could easily be performed with very small, sharp wire wrapped around the victims leg, then tightened quickly and forcefully. This theory, however, is tested by the most recent chapter in which Doflamingo apparently uses his ability to cross an entire ocean incredibly quickly and without the aid of a boat or any flying device.

It seems a bit farfetched even for One Piece that such strings could reach across entire oceans without overexerting the user. However, it has been established that Doflamingo is incredibly strong, so the theory could hold up even still. This mystery seems a bit biased to one theory, but it seems to be the one the majority of the fans subscribe to and is the one we know the most about.

This blog will definitely contain spoilers. January 11th, at PM.As the captain of the Donquixote Pirates and a powerful former member of the ShichibukaiDonquixote Doflamingo had complete authority over his crew. He was active in the realm of underworld brokering including slavery, production and distribution of weapons of mass destruction, and Devil Fruit trafficking in the New World, and the most resourceful and influential broker there was. In addition, he was the king of Dressrosa, which gave him dominion over an entire kingdom.

Upon his defeat at the hands of Luffy, Doflamingo was stripped of his title of King. Being able to deceive the entire world that he resigned from the Shichibukai is considered to be an impossible feat by anyone less than a World Nobleas Doflamingo was indeed one, which gave him the privilege to do as he pleased on a global scale, without any fear of repercussions.

Ten years before the current story-line Doflamingo managed to steal riches from the World Nobles and by threatening the World Government, earned himself the status of Shichibukai.

His reputation was also enough to force king Riku Doldo III to gather money from Dressrosa's citizens to avoid fighting against him. He is the only Shichibukai known to fight one of his colleagues, Gecko Moriaand seriously injure him though he was aided by a small group of Pacifistas and Moria had yet to recover from his injuries from the war.

Whoever ordered him to take out Moria apparently had enough confidence in his strength to have him kill a fellow Shichibukai, and was highly disappointed when he allowed Moria to escape before the final blow could be dealt.

He claimed that the one who gave him the order to kill Moria was of higher rank than Sengoku, those being either the Five Elders or Commander-in-Chief Kongor somebody else of high rank within the World Government. He is so powerful that Law suggested that if Doflamingo resigns from his position, the Marines will send their top fighters, the admirals, against him. He is so strong that Law, a super rookie and a Shichibukai, chose not to fight until he encountered Doflamingo to save energy and have a higher chance against him.

Aside from his tremendous combat skills, Doflamingo had great amounts of influence on the world, being a Shichibukai and a world famous pirate. He was also known as Joker, the most powerful broker in the underworld. He had the Bellamy Pirates under his authority, as well as powerful subordinates such as Vice Admiral Vergo and Monetas well as formerly Trafalgar Lawwho was a fellow Shichibukai.

He had Vergo installed into the Marines as a spy, thus having a trusted and convenient Marine under his command.

Doflamingo was also associated with the former World Government scientist, Caesar Clownbut did not trust him and placed Monet as a deep cover agent to monitor his actions. He declared Caesar Clown to be his direct subordinate, which in turn instantly cleared all of Caesar's crimes and could not be arrested by the government any longer.

Doflamingo's influence extended to several countries at war, as he was the only one providing weapons for them. His defeat made them unable to support themselves any longer and forced many of them to surrender. In addition, Doflamingo was the owner of the once-most popular Human Auctioning House in Sabaody Archipelagobut gave it to Disco when he lost interest in slave-trading in favor of the Battle of Marineford and the New Age.

His abandonment of the auction hall made it succumb to ruination, further demonstrating the power of his influence and the consequences for the lack of it.
